The National Disaster Risk Reduction Strategy (SN-RRC) 2020-2030 of Côte d'Ivoire aims to strengthen the country's resilience in the face of hazards and disaster risks of natural, technological or anthropogenic origin by 2030. This vision is structured around several fundamental principles:
- Centre disaster risk reduction (DRR) actions on communities: Involve local populations in risk prevention and management initiatives.
- Adopt an all-risk, integrated, and holistic approach: Consider all types of risks and ensure cross-sector coordination for global and coherent management.
- Target multidimensional vulnerability: Identify and address the different dimensions of vulnerability, whether social, economic, environmental or institutional.
- Articulate the operational framework of the SN-RRC with the National Development Plan (PND), the national decentralization policy and other sectoral policies and plans: Ensure the coherence and integration of DRR actions into national development strategies.
- Rely on regional and international cooperation: Strengthen partnerships with other countries and international organizations to benefit from exchanges of experiences, resources and technical support.
