Following Jordan's 2015-2025 Energy Sector Strategy, the new strategy for the 2020-2030 period aims to further enhance energy security, interconnectivity, efficiency and promotion renewable sources. Recommendations and goals include: an increase in renewables generation from 2400MW in 2020 to 3200MW by 2030; a greater role for storage in Jordan's national grid, to allow maximal usage of renewable generation; expansion of smart meters for electricity users; and expansion of electric vehicles for private and public transport.
