This strategy aims to address the current situation and optimize the implementation of disaster risk management in the Republic of Congo. The strategy constitutes the main instrument for implementing the country's vision and priorities for disaster risk management within the framework of a comprehensive and comprehensive approach, covering all its components, which are simultaneously objectives, modalities, and components or phases of disaster risk management. This document contains seven strategic areas of intervention, comprising several fields of intervention, namely: Promoting the effectiveness of disaster risk management at the decentralized and local community levels (populations). Building institutional (technical and material) capacities at all levels and among the public for disaster risk management. Strengthening national coordination of disaster risk management and its key mechanisms. Optimizing preparedness and strengthening disaster response capacity at all levels. Strengthening risk assessment and monitoring, as well as early warning and risk information systems, at the national level. Optimizing the implementation and practice of risk prevention and reduction of all origins, at all levels. Strengthening regional, subregional, and international cooperation. For each area, this policy discloses expected results and key performance indicators. In addition, the document contains an implementation and monitoring framework.
