Summary

This Strategy is a planning document for all actions in the field of gender and climate change. It defines the Central African Republic's vision on gender issues related to climate change, in line with the guidelines of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It is jointly led by the National Climate Coordinator of the Ministry of the Environment and Sustainable Development, and the Directorate-General for Gender Promotion of the Ministry for the Promotion of Gender and the Protection of Women, Families and Children. The Strategy covers the strategic framework, the action plan, and the framework for implementation, monitoring, evaluation and financing.

The strategic areas are:

  1. Governance, coordination and climate finance;
  2. Specific actions in priority sectors for combating climate change;
  3. Capacity-building and knowledge transfer;
  4. Information, awareness-raising and communication; and
  5. Empowerment and climate leadership of women and vulnerable groups in a secure environment.
