National Tourism Master Plan 2023 update

Belize's National Tourism Master Plan 2023 update sets long-term priorities and actions in the tourism sector. The plan acknowledges climate change as a particular threat to the industry, as tourism is concentrated along the coast where flooding impacts are expected to be most severe in extreme weather. It emphasises the need for detailed spatial planning with greater national co-ordination around disaster risks, and the need to mitigate emissions in the transport sector. The plan also discusses synergies with rural land use and forest systems.
