Summary

This Plan seeks to tackle illegal waste management, which poses a significant risk of hazardous substances spreading and negatively affecting soil, water and air quality, as well as causing negative impacts on the climate, biodiversity and ecosystem services, some important groundwater. It also seeks to reduce the effects of high consumption in Sweden.

The Plan explores areas such as the environmental and climate impact of a textile product consumed in Sweden, promoting the use of existing textile material as a raw material for remanufacturing new products that has a significantly lower environmental and climate impact compared to fiber-to-fiber recycling.
