The resolution adopts the Indicative Action Plan (PAI) for the development of the Rational and Efficient Energy Use Program (PROURE) 2022-2030, which is an integral part of the resolution. The PAI-PROURE 2022-2030 aims to reduce the technological gap in energy use by 2030 through the adoption of cost-efficient measures, equipment and fuel change. The goal is for the technological transformation of the energy sector to be a key part of Colombia's sustainable development.
The specific goals of the PAI-PROURE 2022-2030 are:
- Update the inventory of energy efficiency measures in different consumption sectors, considering technological innovations and advances.
- Integrate energy efficiency actions and measures in the hydrocarbon extraction and production sectors, mining, and thermoelectric generation.
- Determine national indicative energy savings goals based on a cost-effectiveness evaluation of the energy efficiency measures.
- Identify which energy efficiency measures should be eligible for tax incentives.
- Propose complementary public policy actions to help achieve the energy efficiency goals set in the PAI-PROURE 2022-2030.
