Statement of Government Policy
Summary
Through this statement to parliament, Sweden's new Prime Minister transposes the coalition's political agreement into government policy. Among other things, the document formally changes Sweden’s climate targets from achieving “100% renewable energy” to “100% fossil free energy” so that the government can pursue its nuclear ambitions. The commitment to retain the net zero target for 2045 remains.
