Turkey's 2022 Roadmap
2022PolicyAdaptation, Mitigation
Sectors: Economy-wide, Cross Cutting Area, Agriculture
Turkey’s Roadmap covers future planning for transformations in energy, transportation, industry, agriculture (and LULUCF) that are required to meet the country’s 2053 Net Zero Emissions Target that was announced in 2021. The Roadmap emphasises the use of new (and future) technologies such as blockchain-based traceability technologies, autonomous robots and ‘smart transport’ to help catalyse these sectoral transformations. The Roadmap also includes a proposal for developing an integrated ecosystem and biodiversity monitoring network, to address potential biodiversity loss. The Roadmap recognises the importance of including stakeholders from across levels of government and proposes the formation of a Climate Coordination Board in each province of the country, that will allow for ‘localised’ policy management.
Examples:
Resilient infrastructure, Fossil fuel divestment, Net zero growth plan, Sustainable fishing
