Vanuatu's National Energy Roadmap (2016-2030) Implementation Plan aims to make energy accessible, secure, sustainable and affordable, promoting the green growth of the national economy. It primarily supports increased renewable energy installation and the improved electrification of currently off-grid rural areas. Other provisions include energy efficiency projects for transport, household appliances, biomass end-use and diesel electricity generation. The plan also emphasises improved data collection, aiming to build on the success of previous energy usage censuses.
