Law 1210 Passed

The purpose of this law is to promote and regulate tourism activities by establishing norms that ensure sustainable development and the active participation of individuals, families, communities, and both public and private sectors.
Article 3: Guiding Principles of Tourism in Nicaragua Tourism activities, in all their forms, aim to provide recreation and leisure for individuals and families, promote sustainable economic development, market Nicaragua as a tourist destination, and grow the tourism industry, under the following principles:
Sustainable and Social Tourism: This principle seeks to balance the needs of tourists with the needs of the destinations, local communities, and their families, ensuring future viability and benefits. It includes, amongst others:

<li>Environmental Conservation: Promoting the protection and preservation of natural resources, reducing pollution, conserving biodiversity, and using resources sustainably.</li>
<li>&nbsp;Community Involvement: Engaging local communities in tourism planning and management, ensuring their interests and needs are respected.</li>
<li>&nbsp;Economic and Social Benefits: Ensuring local communities benefit economically from tourism through job creation and sustainable human development, promoting equity and social justice.</li>

People who are less able to respond to the effects of climate change due to having limited financial or physical assets

People who have left their homes, whether through force, voluntarily, or a mixture of both

Either money or something of monetary value is transferred between two or more organisations, people or countries.

This sector involves the distribution, treatment, and conservation of water resources.

Compulsory, required payments to the government that are levied more-or-less in proportion to the services provided. Fees and charges range from entrance fees to national parks, charges on land-based sewage discharge.

Zoning and spatial planning are both methods for guiding the distribution of people and activities in a space, and are regulatory restriction.

Social inclusion is the process of improving the terms on which individuals and groups take part in society—improving the ability, opportunity, and dignity of those disadvantaged on the basis of their identity.
