<p>Nigeria's National Agricultural Technology and Innovation Policy 2022-2027 aims to promote technological enhancement of the agricultural sector, to improve productivity and resilience in the medium-term. A key component of this is the introduction and expansion of climate-smart agricultural practices. This includes digital systems to collect, analyse and distribute data, including climatic data, early warning systems and insurance services. It also includes directly physical interventions such as the deployment of water storage and distribution infrastructure.</p>

It’s especially vital in developing regions where everyday risks, climate-related weather extremes, or crop failures can push people into poverty. Without insurance, people may have to resort to selling assets or cutting consumption to cope with losses.

Work that is productive and delivers a fair income, security in the workplace and social protection for all, better prospects for personal development and social integration, freedom for people to express their concerns, organize and participate in the decisions that affect their lives and equality of opportunity.
