This Act provides for disaster risk governance, disaster risk reduction, disaster risk management and disaster management. It repeals the Natural Disaster Management Act 1998. The National Disaster Management Council holds the overall responsibility for disaster risk management, and the Disaster Risk Reduction Committee is responsible for the formulation and coordination of policies and awareness and training activities.
