This law was published in the Official Gazette A' 92/2020 on May 5, 2020, and aims at easing the environmental licensing procedure as well as fostering the installation of new renewable energy capacity. Photovoltaic projects under 1MW are exempted from seeking a license. The renewable energy category comprises wind turbines, photovoltaic and hydroelectric power plants. It also harmonises Greek law with EU Directives 2018/844/EU and 2019/692/EU.
