The Decree considers that renewing the transport fleet is one of the most efficient ways to reduce energy consumption, as well as improve road safety and the general environment. The Decree extends the PIVE programme, with the aim of replacing 450,000 old vehicles.
In its sixth edition, the government decided to provide EUR175m (USD216m) to continue the Programme. This Decree introduces an obligation on car dealers or outlets within the Programme to inform beneficiaries about efficient driving when they sell new vehicles.
