The National disaster Risk Management Plan (2015) aims to ensure an overall readiness of the national disaster risk management system to deal with potential disaster incidents through integrated cooperation with stakeholders. 

The plan has the following objectives: 1) to provide consistent nationwide concept of operations to enable national, local governments and the private sector to collectively implement disaster management activities; 2) to compile the current guidelines used worldwide for disaster risk management that can be applied to disaster risk management in Thai context and to be used in the development of relevant plans at different levels of government; 3) to develop capacities for disaster risk management which encompasses disaster risk reduction, emergency management and building back better and safer at community, local, national and international levels, etc.
