This action plan supports the implementation of national commitments regarding climate change mitigation and adaptation. It further seeks to increase national climate ambition through the reduction of social and gender inequalities. Its main objective is to mainstream gender and intercultural perspectives in climate change management through empowering women to take decisions regarding the management of ecosystems, biodiversity and water, and enhancing their knowledge and ancestral wisdom.
The plan is framed according to the 11 priority sectors outlined in the NDC and the National Strategy for Climate Change. They are divided into mitigation sectors – energy, industry processes, agriculture, AFOLU, waste – and adaptation sectors – natural heritage, water heritage, food sovereignty, agriculture, cattle-raising, fish and aquaculture, productive and strategic sectors, health.
