Commission Decision (EU) 2020/1804 of 27 November 2020 establishes the EU Ecolabel criteria for electronic displays, covering products such as televisions, computer monitors, and digital signage displays. It replaces earlier criteria for televisions to reflect new technologies and sustainability priorities. The Decision aims to reduce the environmental impact of electronic displays throughout their life cycle by promoting energy efficiency, reducing hazardous substances, and encouraging repairability, recyclability, and the use of recycled materials. The criteria also address responsible production practices by requiring manufacturers to follow social and environmental due diligence, including fair labour standards and responsible sourcing of minerals. In addition, products must provide clear consumer information on energy-saving use, repair options, and end-of-life disposal. Valid until 31 December 2028.
