Summary

As stated in article 1, thrifty and efficient use of energy will contribute to Vietnam's implementation of its climate commitments pursuant to its NDC and help fulfilling the Paris Agreement. The Program reflects the commitments of key stakeholders at all levels on response to climate change end environmental protection. Its general objectives are to mobilise resources for promoting the thrifty and efficient use of energy and to thriftily and efficiently use energy in all activities in the society. The Program aims at realising the former objective through institutional mandates, technical assistance, scientific and technological research, product development, market transformation, capacity building, and international cooperation. Regarding the latter, it plans to reduce the energy intensity across various sectors and save energy in key energy-using establishments and sectors.To this end, it sets specific objectives for periods up to 2025 and 2030.
