Law 18.597/2009 mandates the creation of the Uruguayan Trust for Energy Savings and Efficiency (FUDAEE) . Decree 86/012 approves the creation. The trust will:
- Fund technical assistance, research, and investment projects in energy efficiency.
- Support energy diagnostics for public and private sectors.
- Manage international funds for energy efficiency and greenhouse gas reduction.
- Finance educational campaigns to raise awareness about energy efficiency.
- The trust is a key tool for Uruguay's long-term energy policy and efficient resource use.
