- Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme
In 2014, the UK Government established the Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme in order to comply with EU Energy Efficiency Directive (Directive 2012/27/EU). The Scheme requires companies and other undertakings that meet certain thresholds in terms of size and turn over to conduct mandatory energy efficiency assessments in order to identify cost-efficient energy saving measures. Assessments must be conducted by eleigible organizations every four years. The scheme is administered by the Environment Agency.
