EU External Energy Strategy

This document specifies the REPowerEU plan's objectives to strengthen the union's energetic security of supply reducing GHG emissions. The strategy details how the Commission intends to 1) diversify the EU's gas supplies, 2) prepare the EU for renewable hydrogen trade, 3) reduce dependency on energy imports other than gas, 4) prioritise energy savings and efficiency, 5) supporting partners impacted by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, 6) Leading and accelerating the global green and just energy transition, and 7) Laying the foundations of the new global energy system.
