This legislation replaces European Union legislation on the regulation of financial markets in the United Kingdom, and includes various other amendedment to the Financial Services Management Act 2000. Section 27 imposes new regulatory principles on the UK's financial regulators, the Financial Conduct Authority and the Prudential Regulatory Authority, including the need to contribute towards achieving the UK net zero emissions target and other environmental targets when carrying out their regulatory functions.
