Indonesia’s 2025 National Energy Policy (KEN) sets primary energy mix targets of 19–23% new and renewable energy by 2030, 36–40% by 2040, 45–53% by 2050, and 70–72% by 2060. Coal is projected to account for 40% in 2030, 20% in 2050, and 10% in 2060. Natural gas is projected to account for 14% in 2030, 17% in 2050 and 15% in 2060. The policy designates bioenergy (biomass, biogas, and biofuels), and nuclear power as components of the future energy mix.
