The present law establishes the National Biofuel Policy - RenovaBio, and details for its principles, objectives, fundamentals and instruments. RenovaBio provides for 1) Biofuels certification, 2) the goals of reducing GHG emissions in the fuel matrix and 3) issue and trading decarbonisation credits(CBios ). Normative Resolution 14/2017 sets the strategy for RenovaBio. Decree 9.308 details the application of the law. Normative Resolution 5/2018 sets annual compulsory goals for the reduction of GHG emissions from fuels.
