Long-Term Climate Strategy until 2050
Summary
The National Assembly of the Republic of Slovenia adopted the Resolution on Long-Term Climate Strategy until 2050 on 13 July 2021. The strategy aims to make Slovenia a climate-neutral and climate-resilient society by 2050. It also sets strategic sectoral goals for 2050 (and 2040), which must be taken into account consistently across sectors and integrated into their sectoral documents and plans. According to a press release from The Ministry of the Environment and Spatial Planning, this Resolution was drafted based on the commitments from the Paris Agreement, the "Slovenia and the Healthy Planet" Framework on Long-Term Climate Policy and the EU Regulation on the Governance of the Energy Union and Climate Action (2018/1999).
