This regulation also known as Euro 7 amends Regulation (EU) 2018/858 to include new rules on penalties and types of infringements (Article 19). It repeals Regulations (EC) No 715/2007 and (EC) No 595/2009, effective from 1 July 2030 and 1 July 2031, respectively (Article 20). Additionally, it repeals Commission Regulation (EU) No 582/2011, Commission Regulation (EU) 2017/1151, Commission Regulation (EU) 2017/2400, and Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2022/1362 are also repealed, effective from 1 July 2030 or 1 July 2031 (Article 20).
The main aim of the Regulation is to establish “common technical requirements and administrative provisions for the emission type-approval and market surveillance of motor vehicles, systems, components and separate technical units, with regard to their CO2 and pollutant emissions, fuel and electric energy consumption and battery durability.”
