Roadmap for the Development of Offshore Wind Energy 

Roadmap Released 

This Roadmap was developed with the support of the International Finance Corporation (IFC), in line the country’s commitments to decarbonization and sustainable development. It considers a high-growth scenario in which 7.2 GW of offshore wind power plants are planned be implemented by 2040 and a low growth scenario with an estimated potential of 1.5 GW implemented offshore wind power plants.

Slow onset events evolve gradually from incremental changes over many years or from increased frequency or intensity of recurring events. As defined in the Cancun Adaptation Framework (2010), slow onset events include risks and impacts from rising temperatures, desertification, biodiversity loss, land and forest degradation, glacial retreat, ocean acidification, sea level rise, and salinization.
