<p>Mexico's Regulation of the <a href="https://app.climatepolicyradar.org/document/electricity-sector-law-ley-del-sector-electrico_abd2?q=Electricity+Sector+Law" target="_self"><ins>Electricity Sector Law</ins></a> (2025) implements the Electricity Sector Law by establishing detailed rules for electricity planning, system operation, generation, storage, commercialization, transmission, distribution, and participation in the wholesale electricity market. The regulation strengthens state coordination of the electricity sector through binding planning mechanisms and institutional oversight while providing the operational framework for public and private actors participating in Mexico's reformed electricity market.</p>

Policy instruments are techniques or tools used by governing authorities to promote certain policies in order to achieve predetermined goals. Put simply, instruments are how a government tries to achieve its goals, with this taxonomy being focused on national policy instruments.
