Bicycle and active mobilities plan 2022-2027 ("plan vélo et mobilité actives"): Press Dossier

<div>The second version of the Plan Vélo was presented on September 20th, 2022. The core objectives of the plan are:<br>1. making cycling and walking an attractive alternative to the individual car for proximity trips and combined with public transport for the displacements of longer distances.<br>2. leverage economic benefits by accompanying the ecosystem of French bicycle actors.<br>3. Make the bike accessible to everyone, from an early age and throughout life.<br><br>The plan is organised around the following measures.<br><br>Safety:&nbsp;</div><ul><li>Develop cycle facilities and improve road safety.&nbsp;</li><li>The bicycle plan also plans to help communities to finance cycle infrastructure projects on their territory.&nbsp; The Active Mobility Fund (Fonds Mobilités actives) aims to support, accelerate and amplify projects to create cycle routes within communities.&nbsp;</li><li>AVELO program to help communities to engage in a cycle policy.&nbsp;</li><li>Development of temporary cycle paths.</li></ul><div><br>Safety: Better fighting theft.</div><ul><li>Cycles identification</li><li>Secure parking in train stations and other multimodal places</li><li>Secure parking lots of bikes in buildings</li></ul><div><br>Create an incentive framework fully recognising the use of cycling as a virtuous mode of transport:</div><ul><li>Bonuses to buy bicycle.&nbsp;</li><li>Tax incentives.&nbsp;</li><li>The durable mobility package.&nbsp;</li><li>Tax reductions for companies providing their employees with a fleet of bikes for their home-work trips.&nbsp;</li><li>Develop intermodality train-bike and bus-bike.</li></ul><div><br>Develop a bicycle culture:</div><ul><li>Knowing how to ride by bike</li><li>promoting May as a bicycle month.</li></ul>
