These Regulations promote the efficient use and conservation of energy in Ghana, mitigating climate change by providing for minimum energy performance standards, the labelling of and supplementary product information on electric mains-operated water heaters, and the registration of models of electric water heaters. The Regulations also prohibit the manufacture, importation, sale, storage, donation, disposal, installation or use of water heaters that do not meet the stipulated minimum energy performance standards.
