Summary

Brazil’s Sectoral Plan for Industries aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions for the sector to a cap of 198 MtCO2 in 2030 and 203 to 240 MtCO2in 2035, compared to the levels recorded in 2022. It wil be done by:



  • Gradually replacing fossil fuels for renewables;

  • Improving energy efficiency in industrial processes

  • Reduction of HFCs

  • Promotion of circular economy and alternative raw materials

  • Utilization of CCUS (Carbon Capture Utilisation and Storage) technologies
